Home Business Shocker..and a simple way to avoid the SHOCK

HOME BUSINESS SHOCKER..and simple way to stop the shock

You undoubtedly have used Google Search to find specific information...just type in a word or word phrase you are looking for and Google Search Engine will present pages of related topics and links.
Therefore, one of the best ways of doing market research is to check out what Google.Adwords.Keyword Tool shows about certain keywords and frequency of searches. The more popular...the more searches… greater the marketplace.
It’s common realization that the marketplace for home businesses is booming, especially in our redefining, readjusting economy.

So this statistic came as a profound SHOCK. You can check it out for yourself.

How many people search the internet by typing the words home business on the average per month?
The answer is 2, 240, 000 searches per month…that’s a lot of investigation and/or interest.

How many people search the internet by typing the words home business education on the average per month?
The answer is approximately 750 searches..

In other words, the ratio breaks down that for every 3000 people who are thinking about a home business..there is ONE person who is also thinking about some kind of primary education to explain how a home business works.

HELLO! What’s wrong with this SHOCKING picture?

Imagine 3000 students in a classroom all eager to build their BIG CHANGE money-making vehicle of some kind...but only ONE person will look at the mechanics. This unbridled methodology is doomed to fail! How many ways can you make a wheel?

No curriculum can exist that way through some kind of automatic osmosis. No one can expect a graduate’s mastery or performance from a primary level student. No new “dreamy-eyed” person coming into a home business without proper foundational comprehension and skills will function like a self-branded, social media expert. After a short time..when hype fizzles..only frustration and failure remain.

Now it is also a fact that the most common home business is based on network marketing for many reasons. At least 95% of home business owners are network marketers. It is estimated about 15 – 20% of successful networkers come from previous small business backgrounds and have well-honed business skill.

(This leaves about 80% of home-based networkers with limited skills but they are expected to function with the necessary skills of communicating, marketing, sales, motivation and more. This topic will be covered more in the next blog.)

The main point is that HOME BUSINESS EDUCATION MUST PRECEDE HOME BUSINESS..in the same way that an engineering course must precede building a bridge.

The main answer here is that a PRIMARY EDUCATION PROGRAM must be presented about how this Network Marketing Home Business works. It must be based on a common basic understanding that is easily shared even with non-business people.

Here are examples of primary instruction:

  • Begin with basic vocabulary, concepts, strategies, comparison, self- evaluation and summary
  • Provide a simple training component easily shared with a growing team to explain the duplication principles of this business model. This is mandatory to explain the main concepts related to leverage. Example: Slide presentation: Network Marketing in the Modern Information Age with a Simple 1 – 2 – 3 Marketing Plan.
  • Ensure that the divergent but necessary elements for networking success are amalgamated into ONE simple journal, including self-concept development, to save months of research and avoid mistakes: Example: E-Book: 105 Tips How to Plug into our Information Economy through Network Marketing
  • Connect to a simple online marketing system to expand contacts beyond warm market, uses auto responders loaded with sales messages for automatic follow-up, as well as provide ongoing communication training
  • Provide time flexibility to fit into variable time schedules… not based on conferences schedules. Example:This ABC Primer can be easily accomplished in under 30 minutes with the Mini-Program for Maxi-Profits. NOTE: A picture is worth a thousand words…visual learning is critical to see complex meanings.
  • Has to be low-cost for the average networker to afford: online system, leads, training and support so everyone can get into positive cash flow
  • Eliminate the biggest roadblocks to success which are excuses, “I don’t have any money, I’m too busy, I can’t, I won’t. “ A life framed with excuses is a wasted future. More explanation in reason # 7 Check out slide 28.

BOTTOM LINE: Minimal cost, minimal time, maximum basics, maximum duplication ..the real creation of a true self-franchised individual

HOME BUSINESS EDUCATION becomes an integral part of the Home Business Viral Marketing Formula

Profits = Leveraged Message + Democratic Plan x Duplication

The Leveraged Message is complete and consistent, the Democratic Plan is kept simple, and the Duplication is knowledgeable, exciting without excuses

Profits become part of your life story and legacy.

As always, comments, questions and opinions are always appreciated. Another excellent source of primary education is Home Business 101 (3 videos..introducation, comparison and mindset ) and Home Business 102 (4 videos on Goal Setting

USA Today Article on Recession-Proof Home Business via Direct Selling, MLM, Network Marketing

USA Today Article on Recession Proof Home Business via Direct Selling, MLM, Networking Marketing.

Recently I read an article from USA Today with the heading: Direct Sales Offer Recession Proof Jobs and want to share my thoughts.

Direct-sales businesses that rely on home-based business owners to help market their products are seeing a rapid expansion of networkers because of the country’s unemployment rate, lost jobs and lost nest eggs. People are simply looking for new ways to make money from home during economic hard times for supplemental income or replacement of a lost job. Women are especially looking for financial solutions. Jobs are no longer being taken for granted. What other options or "safety valves" can help to keep you afloat in a faltering economy?

In the article, the Direct Selling Association (DSA) which oversees these companies, states these statistics:
...There are roughly 15 million direct sellers in the U.S. They can also be referred to as network marketers or independent contractors who help market products or services primarily through a home business such as demonstrations in someone's home and one-on-one interactions. In 2007, the most recent year available, the sales industry generated $30.8 billion in U.S. sales.

...10% of representatives work "full time," or at least 30 hours a week. The majority work part-time or only long enough to meet short-term goals, such as holiday presents.

...Compensation systems vary, but representatives primarily earn money from commissions on product sales or by purchasing the products wholesale and selling them at retail prices. Commissions on sales typically are 25% to 50% of retail. While representatives may also earn a small commission on the sales from representatives they've recruited, legitimate businesses do not use recruitment alone as a basis for compensation

You can read the entire article for actual names of people and companies or read this brief summary. Most of the references are about cosmetic companies; in fact, one recently had a 108% spike in its sales representatives.

Three heart-felt opinions are offered:

  1. What if we switch from lipstick and earrings to nutrition with whole food supplements

  2. What if we switch from the idea of salesmanship and recruitment to education about three main business concepts: leverage, residual income and duplication

  3. What if we every person has the potential and democratic right to be an entrepreneur and just need a democratic marketing system

Several different examples were cited of successful home business owners:

…truck driver laid off by construction company worked alongside his wife in a direct-sales compaby with nutritional supplements. Nearly two years later and with no construction job in sight, a one-time sideline is now earning a six-figure income
.. an assistant office manager saw her hours cut last year and needed a way to make up her lost income while maintaining her office job and busy household. Now her home business is thriving even though there is a recession
…young pregnant mother lost her job as a corporate recruiter and couldn’t find a new job.. now focuses on building home business that looks “pretty promising”
…retirees join the trend …66 year old wife saw the couple’s savings reduced by half in the wake of the stock market fall. Now enjoys hosting parties to earn income until market recovers and savings stabilize
… 26 year old recent graduate in public health has struggled to find a job in her field. She worked for her sister as a nanny before getting a full-time position as an account manager. But she has also decided to start selling cosmetics on the side, partly to earn extra cash for her upcoming wedding. She now intends to forgo a public health career and eventually sell the makeup line full time.

My last opinion, as stated priveously, is we live in exciting times, changes and opportunities if we choose to focus on the potential. You cannot control what happens to you. You can control your attitude. You can master change rather than allow change to master you.

Your comments, questions, opinions are always appreciated.

What to Do If You Get Lost Trying to Find a Profitable Home Business

What if you get lost trying to find a Profitable Home Business....

Easy to do with thousands of opportunities out there all promising you gold and glamour galore.

Having a profitable home business in this economy is the right decision, but it's a tough process to start for both beginners and veterans. You want to minimize your costs and time and maximize your profits with proper support. But where to turn...who to trust...what to expect? Making no decision can be even worse because then you're mired in self-denial with an ineffective way to cope wih limited incomes and future securities.

I love analogies as a simple way to explain convoluted subjects...Here is a great example to relate to excerpted from Marlon Sanders.

Imagine You're In A Forest Trying To Find Your Way Home

Re: How To Find Your Focus

Focus. Do you have it?

Or are you jumping from project to project and idea to idea
searching for something that will stick or get traction?

Imagine you're in a forest trying to find your way home.
You start to walk down one path.
Then you see a flower on another path and you start to walk
down it. Then you see a pretty plant on another way out.

And you head towards it.
Night time is coming.
You keep walking down this path and that, following something
on each path that appeals to you.
Before you know it, dusk arrives. And you're where you started.
You make an entry in your journal:

"I don't think there's a way out. Nothing I do works."

As you're writing in your journal, a piece of paper flutters to
the ground. You pick it up.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that."

It's a map.

See, in the forest there are markers down the paths to help hikers
find their way home.

Do You Need A Simple Map To Show You The Way?

Did you know that there are only TWO THINGS you need to
focus on this year to get out of the woods?
It's a very simple map.

So here you spent all day chasing down this path. Going after this cool looking plant,

exploring this bunch of flowers down another path.
And all of that was well and good.
But you forgot your goal.
It wasn't to snatch up pretty flowers. It wasn't to find nice greenery or bushes.

Your goal was to get out of the woods. And you were only two markers away.

I tell this story because there's a lot of truth in it. See,
you may have found yourself running hard to check out everything
in home business opportunities.

You've ran down this path. You've explored another.

You've gone for the prettiest or most promising flowers, bushes and trees.

You've headed down the path where the loudest noise was.

You let a flock of seagulls tell you which path to go down on the theory that the more seagulls

tell you to go that way, the more it HAS to be true.

But the seagulls aren't trying to get out of the woods. All they're doing is making noise.

So there you sit.

Maybe if you run FASTER and HARDER down a path, THAT will get you out!

Maybe if you ask ALL the animals there how to get out of the woods and get a CONSENSUS, maybe THAT will get you out of the woods.

Maybe if you go down the path with the most promising GREEN stuff on it.

None of that compares to a MAP from someone who has been there,
knows the way out and created simple markers to get you out.

Are you STUCK in the woods? Trying to find your way home?

What are you focusing on?

Who are you listening to?

The flock of seagulls? The path the most green stuff on it?

The loudest animals attracting their prey?

How about if you ran into someone else who is also lost in the woods and has

never been out. But they'll tell you which path will get you out of there?
Would you listen to them?

So there's a map.

It has just a few simple markers on it. And at the top of the map it says:

"How to find your "ideal home business" by someone who has been there and
done that. Over and over again."

How much would that map be worth to you?

Well, that depends on how badly you want to get out of the woods.
If it's getting dark and there are animals there and you REALLY
want to get out of the woods to safety, would that map be worth
a lot more to you?
'Cause if you don't get out of the woods, it ain't pretty.

How about $500? Would you pay 500 bucks for that map?

How about $100? How about $50?

Would you say, "I ain't paying $100 for that map. I'll just
spend the night with the animals even though I'm really hungry,
need food and I have nothing to drink?"

What if you could pick up your cell phone, call and have someone give you
instructions on following the markers to get out of the woods?

Would that help?

How much would THAT phone call be worth to you?

Think about it. Just think about it.

How are you gonna get out of the woods?

Which path are you following? Why?

Imagine you're trying to decide on a home business that meets your needs?

PS: I know my way out of the forest...the jungle of home-based business opportunities.
I use a simple 3-Steps-2-Rich Home Business Plan to multiply my profits over and over again.
I have hitched my success map to the "best home-based business concept for the 21st century" as voted by Lifetime Network.
Who do you know who wants a way out to make some extra money?
Who do you know who wants to be healthy?
Your questions and comments are always welcome.

How will the Recession Affect your Home Based Business Opportunity?

How Will The Recession Affect Your Home-Based Business Opportunity?

Throughout history, Network Marketing, as a home-based business, has always had exceptional growth during difficult economic times (contrary to the naysayers...see next blog). Certainly, during tough times, people will not want to spend as they did during economic good times. That is true, but we are not talking about spending such as making retail purchases. Network Marketing is known as the alternative to retail distribution. As a member you can buy directly from the manufacturer. Not only do you redirect your spending for monthly consumables, but also you can make additional income dependent on your marketing efforts.

Here’s an interesting historical perspective:
The first MLM opportunities date back to the great depression of the 1930's.
  • Wachter's, a marine-vegetable (seaweed) supplement company, started in 1937 near the bottom of the Great Depression.
  • Nutrilite took off in 1945 during the economic decline immediately following World War II.
  • Shaklee and Neolife fared well in the post-Korean War slump.
  • Amway got a good start building with the slump in 1958.
  • Mary Kay started with the downturn in the 1960s.
  • Others like Herbalife in the 1990's, went into hyper growth during that recession and became a billion dollar company.

What does this tell you?
When recessions hit, people begin to look for alternative sources of income.

Consumer spending decreases; spending habits get re-prioritized. The future is fragmented and factored into issues of job security, dwindling 401k investments, stock market losses and home devaluation.

How secure do you feel your job is today? Do these terms creep into your mind…long-term…downsizing…getting fired…replacing your job? When recession hits, replacing a job is not an easy thing, but what are the options for finding alternative sources of income?

In my opinion and experience, the best of all alternatives is Network Marketing combined with Internet Marketing. No other home business comes close BUT it must be based on its core principles…a democratic opportunity for everyone, regardless of age, race, education, talent…just an innate desire to have a better life and independence.

MLM businesses can still be built offline…great social activities. However, today we have the advantage of the Information Highway running through our dining rooms and backyards. Today, we don’t have to relegate our financial problems to flipping burgers for more income. Today, the Internet Marketer can plug into a successful Network Marketing company for an exciting opportunity to make some serious income.

  • offers a business solution with minimal capital investment and start up
  • provides a sound business model with training, support and growth potential
  • allows you to stay at home with you families while improving your economic and financial situation
  • tailored for ordinary people who want to improve their financial situation and get an excellent business education without the need to rely on third parties for expensive training or consultation.

How about you?

Are you willing to invest in yourself in order to improve your families and your own financial future and destiny? What other options are there for this global recession?

If you have questions or comments, let’s talk soon. I’ll share a low-cost, complete marketing system and home business recently voted the “best home-based business concept for the 21st century" by Lifetime Network. As you well know, inspiration is a great thing, but education is golden forever.

"A mind once stretched will not return to its previous dimensions."
