The underlying moral, of course, is that the best prepared individual, given choices, will better outlast any dramatic problems or changes with the potential to live happily ever after.
Let's imagine for this story that Unemployment can be represented as a bad wolf.
Now, a recent New York Times article has outlined how millions of unemployed people face years without jobs as the recession continues to mount, with millions nearing the end of their unemployment benefits.

Back to the story, and the simple premise that it is obvious that the threat of unemployment is like the big bad wolf’s threat to the security of the three little pigs.
In fact, let's take a creative look at these challenges with an analogy...that the big bad wolf is the unemployment attacker and the three little pigs act as the three plans that can best deal with the "huffing and puffing" of this uncertain economy.
Let’s begin this simple analogy...
A deep recession fell upon the land. More people fell out of work and savings petered out, and the menace of unemployment, like a hungry wolf, appeared in the neighbourhood. People accustomed to the comforts of middle-class life began to rely on public assistance for the first time in their lives..could it potentially be for years to come?
People began to look at three possible plans in case the unemployment wolf knocked on their doors.

c. Start to believe you are the failure and blame yourself because of age, weight gain or any other "prominent insecurity".

a. Send out local flyers to clean houses or walk dogs. Check out local job listings. Send out dozens of resumes and not hear back. Respond to online ads with less than desirable offers. Take a state-financed program, many with low wages.
b. Check out more expensive investments in what are considered to be the best jobs (for over forty year olds) where you can make potentially make $100,000. Here are some examples..education administrator, strategic communication professional, community sevice co-ordinator, computer systems manager (need MBA with focus on technology) or even a small scale niche farmer (whatever that means).
c. Browse the internet filled with schemes and dreams to ransom a king's treasures. Network marketing home business opportunities abound but they are too often overly time consuming and expensive with over expectations of royalty-like leadership and followers…and, generally, they are NOT doable by the average citizen.
In my opinion these are like straw houses easily blown away with excuses and failures.

It is a smart preventative measure even if you have a good job now and trust your status quo will stretch into long golden years as planned.

It’s late Friday morning…drizzling outside, just baking a blueberry and black cherry buckle…and time to have some serious fun.
If you have followed my blogs, you understand my passion for the network marketing home business done RIGHT at the grassroots level. I am from humble farm roots and I particularly enjoy talking with others who may consider themselves from humble roots but with the grandeur of being of an oak tree.
I particularly espouse equality of opportunity regarding the democratic right to earn extra money in a tough economy. The one and only way to standardize a home business opportunity is with the network marketing business model.
The founding principle is that average people with above average dreams can start a home business with low capital and enjoy high profit potential by making a difference. The 3 basic operatives for success are leverage, marketing plan and duplication.
So, I particularly feel mental pain, in various degrees, when I read certain terms or associations with this unique industry such as “high-priced, private, secret training” marketing strategies. There is absolutely nothing high priced, private or secret about a fair, democratic,profitable network marketing home business.
So, just as a creative thinking exercise, I’m setting up a dialogue between two different network marketers:
Person A who believes in a viral marketing approach and democratic potential…will call him Victor or Victoria
Person B who believes in branding himself as an attraction marketing expert and let’s call him Martin or Martina. He (or she) is showing a "secret weapon."
Please remember as you read this... that the really,really interesting fact is that Martin(a)’s actual words are drawn from a sales copy promoting an attraction marketing program..

Recently I read an article from USA Today with the heading: Direct Sales Offer Recession Proof Jobs and want to share my thoughts.
Direct-sales businesses that rely on home-based business owners to help market their products are seeing a rapid expansion of networkers because of the country’s unemployment rate, lost jobs and lost nest eggs. People are simply looking for new ways to make money from home during economic hard times for supplemental income or replacement of a lost job. Women are especially looking for financial solutions. Jobs are no longer being taken for granted. What other options or "safety valves" can help to keep you afloat in a faltering economy?
In the article, the Direct Selling Association (DSA) which oversees these companies, states these statistics:
...There are roughly 15 million direct sellers in the U.S. They can also be referred to as network marketers or independent contractors who help market products or services primarily through a home business such as demonstrations in someone's home and one-on-one interactions. In 2007, the most recent year available, the sales industry generated $30.8 billion in U.S. sales.
...10% of representatives work "full time," or at least 30 hours a week. The majority work part-time or only long enough to meet short-term goals, such as holiday presents.
...Compensation systems vary, but representatives primarily earn money from commissions on product sales or by purchasing the products wholesale and selling them at retail prices. Commissions on sales typically are 25% to 50% of retail. While representatives may also earn a small commission on the sales from representatives they've recruited, legitimate businesses do not use recruitment alone as a basis for compensation

…truck driver laid off by construction company worked alongside his wife in a direct-sales compaby with nutritional supplements. Nearly two years later and with no construction job in sight, a one-time sideline is now earning a six-figure income
.. an assistant office manager saw her hours cut last year and needed a way to make up her lost income while maintaining her office job and busy household.Now her home business is thriving even though there is a recession
…young pregnant mother lost her job as a corporate recruiter and couldn’t find a new job.. now focuses on building home business that looks “pretty promising”
…retirees join the trend …66 year old wife saw the couple’s savings reduced by half in the wake of the stock market fall. Now enjoys hosting parties to earn income until market recovers and savings stabilize
… 26 year old recent graduate in public health has struggled to find a job in her field. She worked for her sister as a nanny before getting a full-time position as an account manager. But she has also decided to start selling cosmetics on the side, partly to earn extra cash for her upcoming wedding. She now intends to forgo a public health career and eventually sell the makeup line full time.
My last opinion, as stated priveously, is we live in exciting times, changes and opportunities if we choose to focus on the potential. You cannot control what happens to you. You can control your attitude. You can master change rather than allow change to master you.

I wish Susan Boyle was my Home Business Partner
I think 20 million people were blown away this week by a middle-aged woman from a village in Scotland who did what most would not do and, thereby, has set a standard for everyone of us.
She has an incredible gift of song that has taken nearly 50 years to discover but what if she had not taken that one step onto the stage?
Her story is not just about a dream that refused to be beaten down by life...but also about each of us...and what we are willing to do or not do.
She has shown us that you don't have to be good-looking, educated and talented to be successful.
We all face our public detractors or critics.
We all have our personal private critics..not right age, not right shape, gender, ethnic groups, family background, training..
We all have the potential to abandon our dreams and join the masses of cynical losers or scoffers who blame the system, the economy or other people for their failures...without taking that first step
We all know that doing the right thing always demands more courage than following a crowd.
We know that we have innate potential to help, self-develop and prosper beyond audience participation and "survival modes."
To help you get started to prepare for your Life's stage entrance..here are some common ideas well expressed by Chris Widener, successfull network marketer.
When you get to the last step of mastering skills, remember that in the Information Economy there are many ways to leverage your time and knowledge and duplicate your profits in a home business.

Everybody wants to get to the top, whether it is the top of a career, a company, the earnings scale, or the many other ways that we as individuals can define the "top' in our own lives! But with so many people trying to get to the top, how come so many people aren't moving up? I think there are some fundamental reasons why.Reasons that can be addressed and changed!
What are some things you can do to get to the top? Here are somethoughts for you this week!
First of all, define what the "top' means for you.
This is extremely important because if you don't know where you are going,you will never get there! Some people don't want to be the CEO of the company. In fact, many think they are better off than the CEO even though they don't make as much money. Instead, they think they are at the top because of less stress, weekends with their families, etc., and I see their point. It doesn't matter what others think is the top, only what you do, since you are only gauging whether or not YOU get there! So where is it for you? That is the first question for you to answer.
* Be passionate about your goal.
Passion is the energy that drives us, or, as Alexander Pope said,passions are the "gales of life.' Passion is the wind in the sail of work. Find something you love and you will find something you can get to the top of. If you don't love it, you may still make it to the top, though highly unlikely. And even if you do, there will be no joy. Let your passion carry you, because it will carry you far! Thomas Fuller put it this way: A man with passion rides a horse that runs away with him.
* The will to continue in the face of hardship.
Another reason most will not get to the top is because they simply refuse to scale the mountains of hardship that separate them from the top. If you want to get to the beautiful view from the top, you will have to climb over any obstacles. Instead, many choose to stayat base camp! One would think that Bjorn Borg, one of the greatest tennis players to ever live, would consider his skill his greatest asset. Instead, this is what he says, "My greatest point is my persistence. I never give up in a match. However down I am, I fight until the last ball. My list of matches shows that I have turned a great many so-called irretrievable defeats into victories." Continue until you get to the top!
* Love people and treat them right.
What? Love people? That's right! Why? Because if you are going toget to the top you are going to need other people. Be a jerk andyou will find people dragging their feet on you. Treat them right and you will find them helping you and even cheering you on!
* Master the appropriate skills.
Average skills will get you to the middle. Top skills will get you to the TOP! This is most assuredly true when combined with the points above. Are you achieving excellence in the skills you need?Are you growing day by day, month by month, year by year? You can always get better and getting better will take you closer to thetop! Even if you only improve a little, you can keep improving that small amount and it will eventually become a big amount! Demand the best from yourself and you will get to the top. Remember the words of Jose Ortega y Gasset: "We distinguish the excellent man from the common man by saying that the former is the one who makes great demands on himself, and the latter who makes no demands on himself."
These will take you to the top!

People's need for a successful, profitable home business has never been greater.
We know that any success is based on skillset, mindset, knowledge, plans and focus.
And the one skill that is touted as being essential is effective communication skills.
This effort is challenging, perennial, and filled with obstructions and excuses about presenting and converting potential customers. And, just, maybe not everyone feels comfortable doing this. But it also means that we, as average communicators, shouldn’t be discounted but should have access to alternative strategies that also work.
So, is there an alternative to home business with an unique model based on the key concepts of leverage and duplication?
It’s not who or what you know relative to your communication skills…
It’s more about a simple marketing plan that everyone who wants extra security can repeatedly do again and again for massive duplication.
It’s not the skilfull or unskilfull person...it’s a piece of paper with a simple plan that duplicates. Without it, your dreams of a massive organization and passive residual profits will never be reached. With it, everything gets easy and your income stream keeps flowing.
So how do we develop the art and science of Effective Communication

A top sales manager for a certain Brand of vacuum cleaners once said…you’re not finished “prospecting” a neighborhood until you have knocked on each door at least 4 times and communicated the need to “remove dirt in each house at least 7 times…"

There is only one home business model that opens the door to every person to succeed with a simple marketing plan focused on helping others also achieve success...not just buy products or remove problems.The foundation of network marketing is based on average people with above-average dreams with minimal capital (and I would add basic communication skills) who want to start a successful home business.

- residual..work once, get paid multiple times
- leverage…use information tools to tell the story for you 24/7
- duplication..simple business plan that everyone can do (democratic may not need to be based on communication skills)

- EMPOWER …here are some simple strategies to build personal belief-system and motivation.. “I can do this”
- CHANGE … here is how I can plug into a successful company and product that everybody needs
In the end, ability turns out to be what you are capable of doing and motivation determines what you do. Make it complicated like being an effective communicator..and you may see some "attrition;" make it more basic and you may see retention and residuals!
