So many components of the network marketing home-based industry have moved their way around in all different places and directions over the past few years. The last two years specifically have changed this industry forever, and the changes are accelerating even still.


The industry has matured and become more complex. New opportunities and the economic realities have redefined what it is you do, what it is you think, and who it is you are. There are challenges and opportunities like never before.


There are ultimately two choices...get buried under information overload as victims with rare successes or get victor's survival strategies with a back to basics foundation of true network marketing principles that is fair and democratic for every family.



The question is what makes a home business manageable and successful for everyone within this unique home-based model?




The first step is to embrace a mission statement for change, hope and equality.

1.  The world is changing...I want to find a comfortable niche in this change.
2.  The question of money, or lack of it, will not deter me from enjoying my marriage, family, friends and community because abundance is around me and can be shared in a care free manner.
3. The call to change is never to shortchange my ability for success in the Information Age...the talent is to care enough to share expert information. I can do this.
4. The equality for home business is found in MLM or Network Marketing Business Model IF we apply the RIGHT MAIN PRINCIPLE with only 3 STEPS allowed. (Do you know what and why?)
5. The opportunity for self-enterprise with huge income potential and security is with an internet application that everybody needs and wants. The download application is free.
6. The future of home business is to try the service or product first, experience the benefits in order to share it with others. Natural word of mouth enthusiasm needs no training manual.
7. The enlightened grassroots entrepreneurs will stand united and move forward with common purpose and prosperity...and accept no lesser standards of living our potential to be happy.
8. The motto is based on simple actions for everybody: I CAN DO THIS... I HOPE... I CARE... I WILL... I MUST.
9. There is no elitism allowed. No grade system is used. This equal opportunity is worked at an individual pace with equal tools.
10. There are no excuses allowed. Not even old habits that tend to die hard.

Unfortunately, it seems this mission statement is not found with most opportunities or networkers. Online marketers are especially notorious for plugging new prospects into a company's website and compensation plan that works wonders "for them."


Gloves are off! It is not about lead autoresponders, traffic generation, social sites, attraction marketing and whether my list is bigger than yours. Who in the world wants to start a home business with strangers!

Home Business Story of the Unemployment Wolf, the Three Plans and  Own Your Channel



It’s a fair statement that we live in uncharted times...a new world of tremendous changes that affects everyone of us at all levels from birth to old age, education, careers, family, home, health care, technology, retirement, cultures and even morality. Therein lies deep valleys of uncertainty and high peaks of possibilities. At the same time, we are enveloped by storms of information..so much information coming at us from all directions...what to read, watch, believe and decide?


Sometimes, through the storm, a simple story can best present basic ideas and lessons. There is no better story that has appealed to generations than the Wolf and The 3 Little Pigs. The underlying moral, of course, is that the best prepared individual, given choices, will better outlast any dramatic problems or changes with the potential to live happily ever after.


Let's imagine for this story that Unemployment can be represented as a bad wolf.


Now, a recent New York Times article has outlined how millions of unemployed people face years without jobs as the recession continues to mount, with millions nearing the end of their unemployment benefits.

Here are some statistics from the experts:

• approximately 6.3 million Americans have been unemployed for six months or longer, the largest number since the government began keeping track in 1948. 15 million are officially jobless.
• need 100,000 new jobs a month just to absorb entrants to the labor force.
• large companies are increasingly owned by institutional investors who crave swift profits, a feat often achieved by cutting payroll. Companies hire less or find capital equipment to replace workers.
• the declining influence of unions has made it easier for employers to shift work to part-time and temporary employees.
• factory work and even white-collar jobs have moved in recent years to low-cost countries in Asia.
• automation has helped manufacturing cut 5.6 million jobs since 2000 — the sort of jobs that once provided lower-skilled workers with middle-class paychecks.
• strapped households have less buying power which affects auto companies, home construction, foreclosed properties, retails sales and more.

Back to the story, and the simple premise that it is obvious that the threat of unemployment is like the big bad wolf’s threat to the security of the three little pigs.


In fact, let's take a creative look at these challenges with an analogy...that the big bad wolf is the unemployment attacker and the three little pigs act as the three plans that can best deal with the "huffing and puffing" of this uncertain economy.


Let’s begin this simple analogy...


A deep recession fell upon the land. More people fell out of work and savings petered out, and the menace of unemployment, like a hungry wolf, appeared in the neighbourhood. People accustomed to the comforts of middle-class life began to rely on public assistance for the first time in their lives..could it potentially be for years to come?


People began to look at three possible plans in case the unemployment wolf knocked on their doors.


PLAN #1...Hang on and hope the recession will pass. This somewhat passive thinking is like living in a twig house..no personal income, no protection at the mercy of harsh realities.


a.Try and adapt to live without a secure paycheck or unemployment check. It may mean doing without prescription medications, health insurance, certain amenities, healthier food choices, holidays, education and more.


b. Face the spectre of being homeless as a real possibility.


c. Start to believe you are the failure and blame yourself because of age, weight gain or any other "prominent insecurity".


PLAN #2... Be more proactive and look for suitable other employment.


a. Send out local flyers to clean houses or walk dogs. Check out local job listings. Send out dozens of resumes and not hear back. Respond to online ads with less than desirable offers. Take a state-financed program, many with low wages.


b. Check out more expensive investments in what are considered to be the best jobs (for over forty year olds) where you can make potentially make $100,000. Here are some examples..education administrator, strategic communication professional, community sevice co-ordinator, computer systems manager (need MBA with focus on technology) or even a small scale niche farmer (whatever that means).


c. Browse the internet filled with schemes and dreams to ransom a king's treasures. Network marketing home business opportunities abound but they are too often overly time consuming and expensive with over expectations of royalty-like leadership and followers…and, generally, they are NOT doable by the average citizen.


In my opinion these are like straw houses easily blown away with excuses and failures.


PLAN #3...Consider being a Home Business Owner with Own Your Channel.


a. Start building a main foundation as an independent team for $9 month...similar to a home business insurance that offers protection in numbers and time to learn more about entrepreneurship..the blueprint for success. There are no legitimate excuses.


b. Grow this home team cheaply, quickly, and soon it can become a serious contender to join big companies and make profits from the beginning. Even if a particular company stops producing, your team can join other opportunities.


c. Value the serious efforts to help others by setting up a Clearing House for people who cannot afford even minimal start-up costs for a home business. Unemployment fears can "huff and puff" but there is definite protection in numbers, leveraging information tools and residual income.

The ending of this story and analogy will be written by different people in different ways.

Once in awhile something crosses my desk that is so self-serving and madly contrary to what the true nature of this home business of network marketing is all about. It must be rebutted to show people an alternative, more compassionate inroad to this great home business. Thoughts and words are where people first start to agree or disagree about changing their own belief system. What if certain words will only help to close your mind, underrate and confuse you? Why not, let other words stand in service to your true potential and open your mind?.


Let’s first look at what a few network marketers proclaim. They commonly advertise themselves as the top dogs...the alpha leaders...that others want to follow. Huge advertising campaigns buy many internet marketing audiences and sometimes, it seems, its only their show biz pitch you hear. They offer programs to magnetize your personality...to tap into the phenomenon of an alpha male or female worthy of pursuit by countless wanna-bees. The image of a James Bond looks out with steely gaze and bravado confidence as you are led to think that every successful networker should assume a James Bond role (image and all).

For example, here are some of the benefits of their training (paraphrased some longer statements..I couldn’t make this up if I tried )

• become naturally attractive...radiate confidence and focus your energies on achieving your goals
• get a strong frame so others are sucked into your reality of what’s possible
• have a lot of rules that others must follow when they are around you
• everyone wants to work with you because you authorize your own hosting, lead generation and marketing campaigns
• love and respect your body, dress with style, and live healthy lifestyles
• show integrity and not tolerate disrespect or in fact ignore persons who don’t follow you

…and, get the hottest girls if you’re an Alpha male…I’m really not making this up..


The program is about attracting Alpha Leaders..you are either in their exclusive club or you are called another name,  the Betas. These people are described as having “little confidence or value to offer others, so they simply flock to those who do have it in hopes that it will rub off. They are essentially, “unsure” of themselves, or still uncomfortable with the idea of being a leader. They typically live life in a state of “reaction”, where life events and other people dictate their rules and reality. It’s usually someone else’s fault. Beta entrepreneurs cannot exist..only Alphas who can “lead themselves through adversity and challenge”


What egotistical balderdash! Do you buy any of this untrue, unfair supposition?

How can any ONE person focus so much on his / her own biased PHENOMENAL SELF – when proper information can empower and secure financial well-being for so many well-meaning people. Doesn’t it sound like a little “conspiracy of the rich” getting their fingers into this common pie started at the grassroots level?

The foundation of network marketing has always been where average people with above average dreams can start a home business with minimal capital and maximize profits by helping each other to succeed.


Now I will agree with a couple of points:


People do not join a business, they join YOU.


Now, in a traditional businesses or corporations, you need strong, visionary leadership, top-down management, competition and rank advancement based on competence...


Network marketing is based on different concepts where every person is given the same tools, co-operation is the rule and the bottom-up is helped to rise to the top so everyone to experience success. This system is also known as “pay it forward” which can be found on the Entrepreneur’s Assembly Line as outlined by Own Your Channel.


Belief comes before results…what you think sets the tracks for your actions. So why would any one boost their ego at the expense of discriminating against the more democratic majority?


This is where the Alphas blindside themselves by looking too long in their own mirrors. Masterminds may work in other industries but not as well here. Network marketing is not about duplicating a roomful of celebrities and James Bond look-alikes comparing their “hit-Lists.”

The true concepts are based on leverage and duplication with the end result of residual incomes. In other words...every person can share a message from an expert with people they care about who also see the value of a simple plan to make long term income...without the worry of earning a per hour wage in an uncertain economic climate.


Network marketing is not about following alpha leaders and their expensive, time-consuming magnetizing programs that the average person has no reason to do. Give us a break…Its about a simple program that everybody can do like Own Your Channel. (read the many benefits in the previous post)


In a tough economy, the time is right for you and I, the common folk, to reclaim the traditional values of network marketing:

• Network marketing is as much about personal freedom as it is about financial independence. It offers you an opportunity to build caring relationships..not just gain position of powers.
• Network marketing is the simplest and easiest way for the average person to experience free enterprise, take control over their earning abilities, and start generating profits in a reasonable amount of time.
• Network marketing eliminates the huge start-up costs and hassles normally associated with traditional business ownership or franchising. Without having to go to college for years, pile up tons of student loans, and climb a corporate ladder that often they don't even enjoy?

What if...a high school drop-out can earn professional 6-digit income?


What if...someone considered "unemployable" can become a millionaire?


These stories happen in network marketing. Who would actually say NO to this exciting opportunity?


What if your success would not be hindered, but furthered, if you helped every person in your team contribute at a maximum level with no limits?


What if the Alpha Players played in their own backyards and stopped complicating a simple fair and democratic plan for success:
Leverage
Duplication
Residual
Can you send an email..can you watch a video..can you talk on the phone and see what people think?

What if..everyone started with a mere $9 a month to build a home business team?


Remember two things: Avoid following the Alphas...You are not a Beta..and never will be by choice.

Home Business Experience...you don’t want to miss this fishing trip analogy

Recently I had the good fortune to be part of my family’s fishing expedition. The experiences offered many lessons for the home business entrepreneur whether just looking for an opportunity or just starting or deeply involved. Fishing is such a great analogy to weathering life’s choices...but without vision and effort there can be no results.

What if I had decided not to go on this trip based on a dozen excuses why I didn’t want to go..too expensive, too far, no skills, no time, too old, too many variables..what if the weather turned stormy? These trials and tribulations, successes and memories would not exist for me today. The pictures you can view on my facebook profile would not exist to share.

The greater the pity for loss of no effort..the greater the lesson in believing you can do it.
JUST DO IT..whether a fishing trip or a home business..but do it by planning and knowing you can be successful.

THE IDEA…my brother read about this fishing resort and special discount at the end of the season…never experienced Ocean Fishing before..the reports were great about excellent catches, so why not try a family trip…planned 3 months in advance

THE PREPARATIONS... Follow company’s procedures for a 4 day trip, obtain licenses, reserve accomodations, prepare personal belongings, travel to destination…9 hour drive plus ferry journey to Eagles Nest, lovely bed and breakfast location…another 4 hour mountainous drive to picturesque Uculet Inlet.

THE START... 4:30 AM buffet breakfast... 6:00 AM Departure every day... follow the “feed ball” that salmon and halibut also follow...a two-hour boat trip to reach “feeding shelf” about 200 feet down...actual fishing time was about 2 and a half hours to ensure return trip back on time to docks…all fishing rods and bait set, safety regulations reviewed.

THE EXPERIENCE...went out four days and other than the first morning...the weather held steady with lots of sunshine, brisk sea breeze, and brilliant white clouds...basic method was jigging or mooching one stop at a time...interesting interactions with 20 other people, many with no experience, all flipping and running lines...but nothing unmanageable or quickly untangled..a marvelous on-deck multi-talented crew...there was always someone to help

THE SUCCESS..29 salmon and 44 halibut.

THE PROBLEMS...the first morning was touch and go as to whether the boat would even go out...
swells were 15 feet high...other fishing boats disappeared into “troughs”...too difficult to hold both rod and railing...least amount of fish caught...a few sea sick...so glad to see the docks…don’t want to do this again..however…let’s try one more time.
The last morning...drenching rain on the docks...don’t want to go out but got to support the team and it turned out brilliant and calmest once we were out to the open ocean

THE EXTRAS...watching an early morning hazy, golden sunrise on vast ocean waters…seeing gray whales arch against the steely blue and wave their gigantic tails…visiting Long Beach and to watch the surf…visiting the primeval, magnificent Cathedral Forest…great camaraderie..shared meals, drinks, laughter, tall tale stories of the ones that caught away... wouldnt want to miss this trip in hindsight

RELATION TO HOME BUSINESS

Of course, at first, you need to learn and practice the techniques, the conversations.

The previous blog has have shown how few people ask about home business education when looking for a home business. The shocking ratio based on Google Keywords Ad Words Search is out of 3000 home business searches only 1 person also is looking for some education how to start a home business and what to do.

How crazy is that..in the same category as driving a car without a license or building a home without a blueprint or charting a trip without a map or getting married to someone with no previous relationship..all very scary and crazy and highly prone to unfulfilled expectations and failure.

And yet, it would seem, people somehow assume, or are hyped to believe, they can earn a professional 5 or 6 digit income in a home business without applying some initial fundamentals. Do they rely on others to take the roles, hold the reins, and stand under a guru’s charisma long enough to see the “enlightned pathway."

This may work in some businesses but not in a network marketing home business based on massive duplication of a simple plan that everyone can democratically pass on.

So here’s the most important lesson you need to know in two parts

Part 1..Visualize and draw your Keep it Simple Circle (KISC)

Start by drawing a circle..about the size of a small orange.. no need to be perfect.
Inside it draw a small stick figure.
Outside it draw a similar sized stick figure.
Inside the circle write the letter S as large as you can to fit into the circle. S stands for SIMPLE.
Outside the circle write as small a letter S as you can beside the stick figure.
Turn the letters S into dollar signs.

Fundamental Lesson learned: The more simple the business plan the more money you will make. If you are outside the Simple Circle, following something more complicated, the less money you will make…

Part 2. List the essential parts of a simple home business plan.

Draw another similar circle.

Divide it into 3 parts ..more or less equal..don’t worry about being perfect or analytical.

The GOOD NEWS is there are only 3 parts that EACH represent an important part of your home business.

Print ONE WORD in EACH of the 3 sections

• Part 1.. EDUCATE
• Part 2 ..CONTENT
• Part 3.. MAKE A DECISION

So far, this should be totally clear. Now lets add a few details. Write these words outside the circle and connect them to the right section:

• EDUCATE...facts...training
• CONTENT...company... website
• MAKE A DECISION... ROAD MAP TO SUCCESS

You have just created a beautiful mindmap with two circles that represent the tremendous potential of this unique home business. You can now build your dreams on something very real, very action orientated and very democratic. Absolutely everybocy can do this.

Facing the Enemies Within...

Maybe some of our fears are brought on by your own experiences, by

fears are valid, like walking alone in a bad part of town at two

The second enemy we face is indecision.

Indecision is the thief of opportunity and enterprise. It will
steal your chances for a better future. Take a sword to this enemy.

The third enemy inside is doubt.

Sure, there's room for healthy skepticism. You can't believe
everything. But you also can't let doubt take over. Many people
doubt the past, doubt the future, doubt each other, doubt the
government, doubt the possibilities and doubt the opportunities.
Worse of all, they doubt themselves. I'm telling you, doubt will
destroy your life and your chances of success. It will empty both
your bank account and your heart. Doubt is an enemy Go after it.
Get rid of it.

The fourth enemy within is worry.

We've all got to worry some. Just don't let it conquer you.
Instead, let it alarm you. Worry can be useful. If you step off the
curb in New York City and a taxi is coming, you've got to worry.
But you can't let worry loose like a mad dog that drives you into a
small corner. Here's what you've got to do with your worries: drive
them into a small corner. Whatever is out to get you, you've got to
get it. Whatever is pushing on you, you've got to push back.

The fifth interior enemy is over-caution.

It is the timid approach to life. Timidity is not a virtue; it's an
illness. If you let it go, it'll conquer you. Timid people don't
get promoted. They don't advance and grow and become powerful in
the marketplace. You've got to avoid over-caution.

Do battle with the enemy. Do battle with your fears. Build your
courage to fight what's holding you back, what's keeping you from

So we set out to clearly define a chart of goals to take us to where we want to go. But the more we goals we set up, the more difficult the journey becomes…the more excuses materialize, the more obstacles distract us, the more challenges and doubts question our rationale.

First let’s look at a set of goals commonly prescribed for home business entrepreneurs:

1. Identify Your WHY…to get you through the “tough” travelling days in any business

2. Prepare a Dream List and pictures of an exciting lifestyle you want

3. Write down your goals and review them on a daily basis to focus your efforts

4. Break your goals down into action steps. First, imagine your goal is achieved and work backwards through the steps to actually realize it. Keep track of these steps in order to repeat them consistently.

5. Get multiple “Accountability Partners.” In other words, make sure your team members
keep you on your toes with regular motivational calls.

6. Review your goals once at night and again in the morning. You want to train your subconscious mind on a consistent basis to achieve your dreams and desires.

7. Repeat the process. Goal setting should be a continual process not a once a year process. Try and apply more challenging targets and bigger dreams.

I listened recently to a short video presentation about a young entrepreneur who has an absolutely unusual way of deciding which potential million dollar business to build based on a peculiar business model. Can his business plan be explained to future partners on a dinner napkin? And can his partners explain the same business plan on a dinner napkin to other prospects?

The key here is marketing with obvious simple duplication.

He continued to draw a regular sized napkin and divide it into quarters. Each quarter represented a special function.
First, start with a capture email page with a low ticket offer.
Next, proceed to a small ticket upsell where as many as 30% of customers begin to feel comfortable with the buying process. Then, everyone is dropped into an email follow-up system called a Continuity Program. Finally, the big ticket item is produced and supported with call centers, webinars, and email contacts and updates. At any time, potential customers can remove themselves from the marketing funnel.

How many Home Business Hats Do You Wear?

Note: this is another refocused "insight" from the book E-Myths..

Every small home business owner wears several hats: you wear the hats of Entrepreneur, Manager and Technician.

At the beginning, the need to wear at least 3 hats becomes very apparent. Of course, I wanted to be the Entrepreneur, the visionary, working with a strong team to bring health and prosperity to the average family. I needed to be the Technician, the technical expert, who organized the correct emails, mailings, webinars, conference calls, company updates, training sessions, and so on. Then, of course, I was also the Manager who wore the pragmatic hat in terms of talking with people, prospects, new customers, sales and marketing questions, goal setting, solving problems and so forth. In order for any company to be successful, you’ll need to develop these 3 skills or hire somebody to play each of these roles.

However, as time and experience evolved, and the Information Economy and technology continued to expand, then more questions had to be addressed in long term management systems. I’m happy to note these questions have now been answered with the help of information tools and a simple 1- 2 - 3 step marketing system.

• How can I get my business to work, but without me?
• What’s the best way to delegate my responsibilities?
• What procedures should I implement to make the business run and grow itself?
