Once in awhile something crosses my desk that is so self-serving and madly contrary to what the true nature of this home business of network marketing is all about. It must be rebutted to show people an alternative, more compassionate inroad to this great home business. Thoughts and words are where people first start to agree or disagree about changing their own belief system. What if certain words will only help to close your mind, underrate and confuse you? Why not, let other words stand in service to your true potential and open your mind?.


Let’s first look at what a few network marketers proclaim. They commonly advertise themselves as the top dogs...the alpha leaders...that others want to follow. Huge advertising campaigns buy many internet marketing audiences and sometimes, it seems, its only their show biz pitch you hear. They offer programs to magnetize your personality...to tap into the phenomenon of an alpha male or female worthy of pursuit by countless wanna-bees. The image of a James Bond looks out with steely gaze and bravado confidence as you are led to think that every successful networker should assume a James Bond role (image and all).

For example, here are some of the benefits of their training (paraphrased some longer statements..I couldn’t make this up if I tried )

• become naturally attractive...radiate confidence and focus your energies on achieving your goals
• get a strong frame so others are sucked into your reality of what’s possible
• have a lot of rules that others must follow when they are around you
• everyone wants to work with you because you authorize your own hosting, lead generation and marketing campaigns
• love and respect your body, dress with style, and live healthy lifestyles
• show integrity and not tolerate disrespect or in fact ignore persons who don’t follow you

…and, get the hottest girls if you’re an Alpha male…I’m really not making this up..


The program is about attracting Alpha Leaders..you are either in their exclusive club or you are called another name,  the Betas. These people are described as having “little confidence or value to offer others, so they simply flock to those who do have it in hopes that it will rub off. They are essentially, “unsure” of themselves, or still uncomfortable with the idea of being a leader. They typically live life in a state of “reaction”, where life events and other people dictate their rules and reality. It’s usually someone else’s fault. Beta entrepreneurs cannot exist..only Alphas who can “lead themselves through adversity and challenge”


What egotistical balderdash! Do you buy any of this untrue, unfair supposition?

How can any ONE person focus so much on his / her own biased PHENOMENAL SELF – when proper information can empower and secure financial well-being for so many well-meaning people. Doesn’t it sound like a little “conspiracy of the rich” getting their fingers into this common pie started at the grassroots level?

The foundation of network marketing has always been where average people with above average dreams can start a home business with minimal capital and maximize profits by helping each other to succeed.


Now I will agree with a couple of points:


People do not join a business, they join YOU.


Now, in a traditional businesses or corporations, you need strong, visionary leadership, top-down management, competition and rank advancement based on competence...


Network marketing is based on different concepts where every person is given the same tools, co-operation is the rule and the bottom-up is helped to rise to the top so everyone to experience success. This system is also known as “pay it forward” which can be found on the Entrepreneur’s Assembly Line as outlined by Own Your Channel.


Belief comes before results…what you think sets the tracks for your actions. So why would any one boost their ego at the expense of discriminating against the more democratic majority?


This is where the Alphas blindside themselves by looking too long in their own mirrors. Masterminds may work in other industries but not as well here. Network marketing is not about duplicating a roomful of celebrities and James Bond look-alikes comparing their “hit-Lists.”

The true concepts are based on leverage and duplication with the end result of residual incomes. In other words...every person can share a message from an expert with people they care about who also see the value of a simple plan to make long term income...without the worry of earning a per hour wage in an uncertain economic climate.


Network marketing is not about following alpha leaders and their expensive, time-consuming magnetizing programs that the average person has no reason to do. Give us a break…Its about a simple program that everybody can do like Own Your Channel. (read the many benefits in the previous post)


In a tough economy, the time is right for you and I, the common folk, to reclaim the traditional values of network marketing:

• Network marketing is as much about personal freedom as it is about financial independence. It offers you an opportunity to build caring relationships..not just gain position of powers.
• Network marketing is the simplest and easiest way for the average person to experience free enterprise, take control over their earning abilities, and start generating profits in a reasonable amount of time.
• Network marketing eliminates the huge start-up costs and hassles normally associated with traditional business ownership or franchising. Think about it: where else can the average person have the opportunity to earn an executive-level income by working from home? Without having to go to college for years, pile up tons of student loans, and climb a corporate ladder that often they don't even enjoy?

What if...a high school drop-out can earn professional 6-digit income?


What if...someone considered "unemployable" can become a millionaire?

The point is that there isn’t much we can do as individuals with the national economy and world-wide changes.


But there is something we can do about our personal economy with the right successful home business plan…a return to free enterprise and grassroots capitalism accessible by everyone.


LESSON TWO: A SIMPLE MORAL FOR OUR TIME


So it seems we have no control over all this unpredictable economic turbulence. However, is our only choice to be held for ransom, overwhelmed and confused? Or is there something small and democratic we can all use to find true entrepreneurship and make money from home?


Perhaps, this simple fable presents a different context to consider.


Once when a Lion was asleep a little Mouse began running up and down upon him. This soon wakened the Lion, who placed his huge paw upon him, and opened his big jaws to swallow him. "Pardon, O King," cried the little Mouse: "forgive me this time, I shall never forget it: who knows but what I may be able to do you a turn some of these days?"


The Lion was so tickled at the idea of the Mouse being able to help him, that he lifted up his paw and let him go.


Some time after the Lion was caught in a trap, and the hunters who desired to carry him alive to the King, tied him to a tree while they went in search of a wagon to carry him on.


Just then the little Mouse happened to pass by, and seeing the sad plight in which the Lion was, went up to him and soon gnawed away the ropes that bound the King of the Beasts.


"Was I not right?" said the little Mouse.


Little friends may prove great friends.

The point is a simple mouse can help tame the all powerful lion-like Economy..no longer the victim but a victorious, efficient home business entrepreneur.


LESSON 3: A SIMPLE HOME BUSINESS TEAM CALLED OWN YOUR CHANNEL


First, you need to acknowledge that changes are here to stay and you have no control over the powerful forces out there…it’s a jungle out there and the biggest seem to survive best…but we are all entitled to equal opportunities.

THE TWO YEAR STORY by AL SCHREITER

Let me give you an example of one of my favorite stories. This story is
designed to get the prospect to think long-term, and to believe that he
can succeed in the business.

Imagine you're at work one day... and your boss comes to you and says,
"Bad news, we're going to have to fire you. Business is bad. And the
economy stinks."

You feel depressed. No more career. No more regular paychecks.
And then the boss says, "You know what? If you were to work just one
extra hour overtime every day for free, from 5 pm. to 6 pm., Monday
through Friday, we'll let you keep your job and you can continue
collecting your same paycheck."
Now, what would you do?

Well, most people would say, "Well, I will work the extra hour of overtime
just to keep my job. I know I will be working the extra hour for free, but it
is important to keep my present job."

And then the boss says, "Well, I know it's kind of bad news for you but
there is some good news. If you work an hour of overtime, Monday
through Friday for no pay, just one extra hour a day... at the end of two
years, we'll let you retire at full pay."

All of a sudden, how do you feel?
You feel like saying,
"Wow! Excellent! What an
opportunity! Just work one hour
overtime for free, Monday
through Friday, and two years
from now... I retire at full pay!"

So what would happen?
You're working overtime and six months later one of your friends says,
"Hey, why don't you quit doing that? You're working an hour overtime and
not getting paid for it."
You say to your friend, "No way! I only have 18 more months to go and
then I'm going to retire!"

A year from now, maybe your spouse says, "You know what, dear?
You've been working that free hour of overtime for the past 12 months.
Why don't you spend more time here at home instead of working that
hour overtime?"
You say, "No, no, no! Just one more year and I can retire at full pay."

And you would be at work faithfully, Monday through Friday, working that
overtime so you could retire. And you would be excited about the
opportunity.

Well, we have the same opportunity to retire with our network marketing
business.
We ask people to spend one hour a day, Monday through Friday building
a network marketing business. And all you have to do is... talk to some
people.
And you don't have to worry too much about what you say,
or how good you are because you know what? You'll get better.
The longer you do network marketing, the more you'll learn.

So maybe after the first month you say, "Gee, I really don't know what to
say."
The second month you get a little better and say, "Well, I know a few things about
this Wonderful Company.”
The third month you get better at this and say, "I think this is a neat
business. You might want to look at it."
And the fourth month you get better and better.

Just invest an hour a day. And at the end of two years you might be
pleasantly surprised and say, "You know what, I can replace my full-time
income and retire for the rest of my life."

So... would you take advantage of this opportunity?
If you are like most people, you will want to take advantage of this
wonderful opportunity... but, you won’t do it.
Here is why you won’t do it:
A little voice inside of your head is saying, “But what if it doesn’t work?

There are few events more spectacular than watching a dark night sky brilliantly explode with fountains of color cascading in symphony with music.
It is a great symbolization of a proud, free spirit that can soar and expand as far as hope and imagination can fire up beliefs, heritage, and the pursuit of liberty and happiness.

But after the fireworks and the loyalty to country and history and freedom, how can we continue the beliefs of doing more, being more and fulfilling a life’s dream.
After the celebration, how can we keep celebrating our emotions?

We can fill our minds with independent attitudes or we can hobble new ideas with passive excuses.
Again, a brief visualization might be helpful here of two imaginary characters.
Attitude Al is a tall strong character (constant reinforcement) with a direct stare and strong hand shake.
Excuse Eddy is small, sinewy (constant wear and tear) with wavering stare and weak handshake.
Now, together, they share a common refrain:

Excuses cannot destroy a talent.

The smallest of excuses can destroy a great attitude.

One strong attitude can defeat a host of excuses.

Here are some key attitudes that will lead to greater self-independence not irritated by excuses:

• you are a positive and constructive human being
• you are born with natural talents to be discovered and used to the best of your abilities. A talent can be as basic as reading and sharing information.
• do not fight or foreclose your natural ability because other people may not see the same things you do or approve your dreams
• do not be afraid of pursuing success because it may seem too hard..then simplify it.. or too easy..success shouldn’t have to be difficult..does it?
• expect challenges...they help built your character and give you stories to share. Take a few minutes to acknowledge the obstacle or problem but spend most of your time talking about a solution.
• concentrate on your strengths, not your weaknesses...we all have both. You don't see
  Michael Jordan sitting around trying to decipher a strand of DNA…his strengths are sports and business.
• focus on the future. Set a clear picture in your mind of where you want to be three years from now and take action to move towards that image. Why spend more time than necessary on worrying about the spent currency of the past? Spend your time wisely today to finance your future tomorrow.
• do what other successful people do in order to learn how to use your mind to exert mental control over situations. Make a habit of looking for the answers to your questions
• be cheerful most of the time with a Positive Mental Attitude. There is a lesson to be learned from all situations to help you expand, grow and become better
• get a pen or pencil and paper...success can be as basic as thinking on paper. Take some time to write out every detail of an encountered problem and then the most logical next step to solve it. Make a list of goals and ideas. See great lesson plans on setting TWO GOALS.
• practice, drill, rehearse, practice, drill, rehearse...fight through fears and “what-if’s” to eliminate excuses and recondition the mind to your betterment.
• get energized, excited and optimistic! Get your dreams buzzing so you can hardly stand the possibility..sort of like watching fireworks. Be brilliant, even if your talent is just reading and sharing, and be practical to share this brilliance.

Home business...viral marketing described ..no more put-downs,ever again.. part 6

In the last few blogs, you have been introduced to a viral marketing formula for a network marketing home-based business. A couple of people have questioned the meaning of viral marketing..and this is a good thing. We undoubtedly also share the feeling that there is far too much hype on the Internet today ...so how do you separate the useful information from the buzz and what to believe.

You will also read a contrasting statement from attraction marketing that I consider a put-down… a literal slap in the face that I will not accept anymore, never again.

First, what is viral marketing:

• a method of advertising products or services by passing a message to friends, associates and family members
• the message creates exposure and potential for geometric growth to 100’s or 1000’s or more people
• this exponential exposure with extremely low cost and time efficiency grows quickly

Second, how does Viral Marketing work...based on a single product or message

• must be as low cost as possible
• must provide tangible, measurable benefits
• must be easily transferred throughout the target community
• speed of duplication is based on simplicity and value

Third, why Viral Marketing can build Your Network Marketing Home Business

• based on successful duplication of simple plan..nothing complicated or too expensive
• does not rely on the skill set or knowledge base of your team members
• benefits have tangible value so nobody has to convince or sell anybody
• delivery is highly time efficient so everybody can do it
• speed of growth adds excitement and value to product or tool

So, in summary, viral marketing has tremendous potential in sharing worthy products and / or services that create results and excitement that everybody should be able to do or duplicate.

In effect, this is the essence of network marketing to achieve massive duplication and potential growth to help people and communities.

So, here is a statement from an internet millionaire that raises my temperature like a hot day on the lake because it splashes cold water all over the potential of viral marketing. And, I must confess that there was an earlier time when I would have wilted with a blistering comment like this, actually thinking “I can’t do this”…but not anymore.

He makes some valid points about gaining long-term knowledge based on initial failures and the big goal of becoming a master networker and copywriting specialist that takes time, dedication and money ($100,000 over 10 years plus $1000’s more monthly for training).
Then he makes this comment (paraphrased):

You can be successful in network marketing if ONLY (his emphasis) you have the right personality AND you are willing to establish yourself as a leader. You see… in network marketing, you WILL have to talk to people.
So, if you do not ENJOY talking to people (and, yes, selling) you should not be in MLM or network marketing!

I’m glad I can simmer down because it’s only one point of view, although commonly shared by several gurus engaged in self-branding or attraction marketing. But, from my experience, it is my choice not to let this one comment block my goals for a successful home business using a simple formula as a basis for viral marketing.
