• real estate construction will continue to contract and lenders may take further write-downs
• less capital for private small business to borrow and restrain in hiring workers
• changing demographic with aging baby boomers who may postpone retirement
• consumers make permanent changes in their spending habits as a result of the recession

The point is that there isn’t much we can do as individuals with the national economy and world-wide changes.


But there is something we can do about our personal economy with the right successful home business plan…a return to free enterprise and grassroots capitalism accessible by everyone.


LESSON TWO: A SIMPLE MORAL FOR OUR TIME


So it seems we have no control over all this unpredictable economic turbulence. However, is our only choice to be held for ransom, overwhelmed and confused? Or is there something small and democratic we can all use to find true entrepreneurship and make money from home?


Perhaps, this simple fable presents a different context to consider.


Once when a Lion was asleep a little Mouse began running up and down upon him. This soon wakened the Lion, who placed his huge paw upon him, and opened his big jaws to swallow him. "Pardon, O King," cried the little Mouse: "forgive me this time, I shall never forget it: who knows but what I may be able to do you a turn some of these days?"


The Lion was so tickled at the idea of the Mouse being able to help him, that he lifted up his paw and let him go.


Some time after the Lion was caught in a trap, and the hunters who desired to carry him alive to the King, tied him to a tree while they went in search of a wagon to carry him on.


Just then the little Mouse happened to pass by, and seeing the sad plight in which the Lion was, went up to him and soon gnawed away the ropes that bound the King of the Beasts.


"Was I not right?" said the little Mouse.


Little friends may prove great friends.


Simple tools may create great multiple streams of income.


So, here is the creative comparison. The Lion represents The Economy...whose survival depends on being all powerful…all variable to serve its pride of share holders...maximize profits...minimize costs...with less concern for individual well-beings. Now, we will either be victimized by it (The Economy) outright, live in fear with every bill payment or learn to manage and co-exist respectfully with it.


Now, what a coincidence that your small but vital connection is also called the “mouse.” It’s usually grey and can be held in your hand, be nimble, with the amazing ability to communicate worldwide. It can connect you to new ideas, home business opportunity, experts, and webinars to share valuable information in the comfort of your own home


The point is a simple mouse can help tame the all powerful lion-like Economy..no longer the victim but a victorious, efficient home business entrepreneur.


LESSON 3: A SIMPLE HOME BUSINESS TEAM CALLED OWN YOUR CHANNEL


First, you need to acknowledge that changes are here to stay and you have no control over the powerful forces out there…it’s a jungle out there and the biggest seem to survive best…but we are all entitled to equal opportunities.


Second, you need to know something as simple as a mouse can connect you to a host of opportunities, market trends, even multiple profits especially in network marketing (mlm) home business models..


Third, avoid the complications...the jungle of information, mistakes, expenses, lost time. Make sure you see the big picture before you start with a simple step by step system to win as big as you want. Understand how to set the proper compass points to reach the destination that will last a lifetime for your children and grandchildren. Address the problems of duplication and marketing. Understand how independent team ownership builds the one and only team you will ever have to build and continue to earn multiple incomes.

Recently I read an excellent article by Brian Tracy about Creating Your Own Security. Several points were made that were frightening about a future that is no longer safely predictable. The realization dawned that my family’s financial future with Own Your Channel was not so daunting.

Here are some of the worthwhile points to ponder:

• Change is increasing and happening in unexpected ways..but how can you keep earning money..no matter what
• You can't do much about what's happening. But you can -- and should -- think seriously about what all this change means in terms of your financial security.

I’m moving on up..from clutter to clarity in my network markting home business in both a physical and a mental space.


I am physically moving from my downstairs home office to a new upstairs office that now adjoins a new backyard deck and patio.


In the process of moving, I’m also sorting and eliminating a lot of paper work. A lot of learning..but not much earning.


Do I regret all the paper work once managed? Not really, beause it has provided a solid foundation about network marketing principles and practices. Somewhat, because I could have spent more time with family and friends.


Would I recommend anybody else to follow or duplicate these calls, notes, downloads, research, training, manuals and binders full of transcriptions?


Never, not now... because I fully embrace the clarity and liberty with Own Your Channel.


Here is an example.


One turquoise blue binder about 4 inches thick held the majority of the main categories of notes. At one time, I thought a one-binder home business was actually a selling feature. Now it is one website and one video. Things are moving on up for everyone to participate in this wonderful business..binder or not. All you really need is a phone, a computer and a desire for something better or you and your family..

The cover letter concludes with…”There is a ton of information here..but don’t worry…the great thing about this business is you have a sponsor and team to back you up, and be there every step of the way to insure your success.” Ever wonder why so many people give up in this industry between the time it takes to sponsor new people and then the time it takes to train them? Sounds like trading one full-time job for another. I know networkers who work 10 to 12 hours a day..is this the time freedom we search for or advocate for others?

The special emphasis is on liberate. Liberty is such an important word ranking along with independence, free enterprise and pursuit of happiness.


Liberty is freedom from control of fate or necessity…enjoying privileges and rights


And, to some degree, network marketing as a home business strives to reach these lofty goals and visions.


Where else can the average person have the opportunity to earn an executive-level income by working from home...without business experience, climbing corporate ladders, accruing college loans…regardless of background, culture, gender, age, or ethnicity.


It is a 60 year old business model based on building relationships and partnerships to make a difference with products and opportunity. Over the decades it seems to have evolved, along with technology and bureaucracy, into a more complex institution with grand stand plans and exclusive leadership models that are far removed from basic concepts that work for the majority of average people. The expectation is to start with 3 people which can be the beginning of a large successful organization.


My latest experiences in this grassroots industry has been over-saturated with top-gun gurus, advertising expenses, endless training, list-building, time consuming social media....trying to brand oneself in the middle of massive herds of other self-branding online marketers. This has been a painful and expensive experience to say the least..and it doesn’t ring true for the average part-time home business networker.


Now there is a new dawning with a new knight called OYC. It is challenging this complex system that very few people can hope to follow, much less achieve.


Networkers are now faced with a new mindset:


How simple it is to replicate home business success:

build a team first for $9 a month..own your own distribution channel, and when ready..move into residual profits..again and again..

However, because it requires challenging common assumptions and learning something new..even networkers fall back into the 4 stages of learning a new skill:


Stage 1: don’t know that they don’t know (unconscious)


Stage 2: know I don’t know but I will begin to work on learning it (conscious)


Stage 3: know what you need to know and you know you can do it (competence)


Stage 4: know you can perform the skill without even thinking about it (habit or mastery)


The bottom line is that it will take time and perseverance to expect even networkers to realize that building one team and working for one company is a flawed model. It means having to phone people at least four times. The simple message always stresses the value of watching the 5 minute introductory video and then the whole story.


Personally, I don’t get how people don’t “get it.” But I appreciate it is still a learning process…even if this time we are de-structuring a complex model to its basic elements that everybody can do. We are still pioneers…even though our journey is to return to simplicity and core democratic values.


My plan is to call people four times with the invitation to watch the amazing videos…or leave voice mail messages.
